Creation houses our most basic spirits.
It is the most primitive religion.
Art provides a setting within which we can reflect
on how we
are all part of every turn of every leaf.
Nature is as much a part of us as we are of nature-
and through artistic creation
we can intensify that connection.
Time with nature is healthy for our souls;
It makes us pause and makes us take a breath.
The ritual of creation allows us to fall into step
with the essential functions of the natural world.
Twisting wire over
a piece of sea glass into patterns
capturing the movements of the currents
which tamed its edges.
Instead of using the artifice of civilization to defy nature,
it can be shaped to awaken the hidden grandeur
in the smallest of her aspects.
Inside of every leaf is hidden the tree,
each drop of water is the ocean,
and each stone the mountain.

My mission as an artist
is to focus and enhance the beauty in the world
that would otherwise be overlooked.
As a jewelry artist
I can turn that vision into art we can wear every day.
